We had our first baby shower and we were very thoroughly showered with gifts, love, and thoughtfulness.
I won't repeat all the pictures of the shower I shared on Facebook, but wanted to show you a bit of the aftermath.
Our haul took up the entire rear end of my filthy Hummer.
We were overwhelmed for a bit by all the piles of loot.
But we had fun looking through everything and sorting out all the goodies. And pretty soon, what had been an empty and lifeless room, suddenly began to feel cozy and full of new life.
The transformation happened on its own, as I've been reluctant to put much effort into a room that won't be ours for much longer, but now that it's started.. I can't stop it. I fiddled with his things the rest of the night and got teary every time I played the lullaby on his new mobile.
We got much needed things like his mattress, bath time stuff, and even his car seat! (Thanks, Gma and Gpa Stearman!!!)
And we also got lots of fun and adorable things like the softest blankies you've ever felt in your life, onesies embroidered with his name, books to read to him, and yes, we finally got his COWBOY BOOTS!!! And those boots came along with the cutest stinking outfit you've ever seen in your life. (Thanks Gma and Gpa McCarter!!!)
Sidenote: I've always described Dallas as a sort of "Cowboy Rocker". I don't know what else to call him, with his tattoos and fauxhawk paired with cowboy boots and giant diesel truck. And it looks like his little buddy is already following in his footsteps... :)
We've still got a lot of organizing and putting-away to do... but I'm really enjoying this phase of getting prepared for March 23rd!
